Mags started doing shoot outs 2 weeks ago so there should be some coming out real soon. Probably Cycle News online but check all the mag web sites.

Showed up to my buddy's shop in eastern NC yesterday. They are expecting to get their 450X in early January.

I will when i hear some real world reviews. I loved the test ride articles but want a few more reviews. Although i would of pre ordered if i wasn't dealing with some old injuries and nerve issues in my neck and where i had back surgery. It all came back out of no where recently and it just been getting worse. I was hoping that not riding and no golf and rest would help but actually feeling worse. Really just hoping they are actually as good as i think they are.

I haven't been able to test our CRF450R in decent conditions (Finland) so far, but we are testing both 450R & 450RX tommorrow here in Sardinia. I had also chance to talk with mr Uchiyama (the large project leader of this bike) today and it was pretty interesting to hear that he was also the guy behind the 2008 CRF450R before doing some other stuff in between. He confirmed that geometry vice there is plenty of similarities to 2008 model.

Awesome to hear they are going back to the 2008 feel. Just bought a mint 2008 for $2,600.00 so I saved myself some cash!

That is really interesting. 08 was about perfect for me, if it was fuel injected, oh baby. That guy knows about building a bike.
Enjoy your test and looking forward to the results.

So I guess imagine riding an 08', that has a bit flatter ergo, is more responsive via EFI, narrower, and is ump-teen lbs lighter- Sounds good to me

The tank cover is pretty cool, never noticed that, needs to be red. Whoever approved the black on the graphics needs a time out.

The cover looks ok, but my first thought is it seems like it could be a big mud collector, and another awkward recess to clean.

The bike looks great. Even the hardware has gone through change and looks really good.

Looking at my buddies bike before he took it away to ride (not even sure if he has got off the bike in the last 3 days!!)....it looks better in the flesh that it does in pictures, build quality as always looks good too.

Not sweating the shootouts myself, always find them interesting but not what dictates whether I change brands or not. After all most new bikes get sold way before the shootouts are done, this late arrival of the CRF is an exception to the norm (for those who buy a new bike when they are released to the showrooms) being so close to shootouts being published.

Now go look at ktms crap hardware and tell me ktms are as well made as a Honda. On most Hondas you can't even see a tool mark from the build process. My 16 ktm has marks on all the dull bolts from the build. Drives me crazy.
