My ex-dealer (I now ride Kawasaki) sent me this link, he's a cheeky bugger

http://www.honda2017.com/2017-honda-crf450r/

He said he wants me to preorder one like I did with the KXF (I ordered one without riding it). lol.

I wrote back and said so whats my sponsorship package first before I even consider your request! And by the way the KXF is pretty damn good. lol

I don't get it, where are the news? those pics and infos are out there for months already.
still, not really excited for that bike. look at them new huskies and ktms. japan has to do a bit more than a electric start.

They have literally no spec info on this bike and you're already shooting it down. What if it's lighter than the KTM? How do you know know that Japan hasn't done more than electric start? I hate how KTM guys bash everything, and you're doing it without having a clue what you're talking about.

I sure would be pumped if I am a Honda dealer selling 2016's for many months to come. I guess Honda knows what they are doing.

With all due respect what's so exciting about the new KTM's and Huskys? They're not exactly breaking new ground with technology. They've had electric start for years and the only other thing they have that could be deemed an upgrade is the hydraulic clutches they've run forever but I'd say that's personal preference more than anything.

They're great bikes don't get me wrong but shitting all over Honda based on a couple of pictures before you have any idea what suspension, engine and chassis upgrades they've made is a bit off base. There's obviously major changes on this bike, how about you ride one then get back to us.

yeah, I'm a ktm guy. Pinch

all i said that I'm not excited for it because as of now, it looks like it will 'only' catch up to the likes of ktm/ husky (if at all) and not actually taking it a step further and push the envelope for all the other manufacturers. this is my point of view and now have a cup of tea and relax man...

KTM have done great things for the sport, no doubt, but they dont suit me or my riding style....doesnt mean I hate them just cant win on them like I have on hondas or kawasakis

Because noise isn't an issue with the sport today

The real buzz will be when people find out that it's a dual cam motor and will make over 60hp in stock trim.

It would be nice if the Honda started to make some power to compliment it's other nice features. How many years now has it been the slowest 450, 3or 4?

yes, I guess you can argue it either way, either the 450's are actually too powerful and more HP than the average rider can handle or they all need to be the highest HP possible.

You put a expert or pro rider on the Honda and it probably wont win against other stock bikes. You put a beginner or intermediate rider on the Honda and chances are it will. Go figure. For all the angst over its 'lack' of HP or its twin exhausts it is a damn good bike.

I have to agree. Noise is the biggest issue we face in the next few years. Sadly we need to comply or our riding areas will be shut down one by one.

I agree noise is an issue–but at the track at the weekend I saw one honda 250/450 with stock dual exhausts. The others that went past with aftermarket systems were all still noisy as fuck.

I don't think pro-racing should have the same threshold as what we are meant to run... Every other pinnacle of motorsport is noisy as.

Aftermarket and the mfgs should be forced to sell to the public at 90db or close too it. It has to happen at some point...especially with how four-stroke noise travels.

For some of you honda lovers.....It could have 14 exhausts and you would still by them, and that is a shame.

I love honda also, but I just don't see the two exhaust situation....

Well not really apples to apples comparison but the KTM's with Akrapovic exhaust are registering lower DB's at the sound tests than the twin muffler Hondas so you Honda lovers are going to have to figure out another reason to love extra parts, extra weight and more expense in your muffler system.

I can't believe hondas still using dual exhaust, I remeber when the 06crf250r came out with it and everyone swapped to single aftermarkets lol. I figured that was gonna last 1 year but 2017 and still going dual Pinch
