Had a hunch we would see another 2016 bike this week. Good to see Kawi finally start dropping some weight from their bikes.

2016 KTM 450SXF US model comes to 236lbs with fuel ready to ride.

KTM says approximately 7 Liters = 1.85 gallons (Weight of 1 Liter is 1.62lbs)

239.6lbs full of fuel, so should be around 229-230 dry. Only a 1.66gal tank.

Looking nice! Within 1 or 2 lb of the ridiculously hyped 2015.5 KTM 450FE due to it's low weight (among other things) is incredible. Excited to read some reviews on this bad boy!

Oh.............as you get older, you finally have the money for a new bike. Have owned and rode Kawasakis for my whole life. Alas No New 2-Stroke KX 250.
So I'll keep my 05' and 06' running cherry another year.
Sorry Kawasaki.........................moving along now, later

I don't know why, but to me the Kawis always look heavy and clunky.

Dang! Only about 3lbs more than the new ktm? Not bad , not bad at all. Going in the right direction for sure.

Valid point. I'm glad KTM set the bar so high forcing the big 4 to follow suit or be left behind.

I don't care for that one-piece radiator shroud/airbox cover... looks kind of like a cheap video-game bike

I wonder how they lost that weight? I hope all these new light weight motors stay reliable.

One thing to remember, this KX450F has been in development since late 2012. Wink

Man I've owned all of them- While my 13'KX has been completely trouble free, I do find it hard to hang on to after riding a new 14 or 15' Honda.

Kx's have always had great motors. This new 16' looks like a step in the right direction.

I'll be that guy...

If Kawasaki ever brought back a KX250 2-stroke I would be first in line....I love my 06.

With that being said, if this think had spring forks, I would be interested in it.

I beat you on this thread and I'll beat you in line at the dealership. Ha!
I imagine Kawi could sell a couple thousand New KX 250's (2-stroke) if they wanted, but unfortunately it will probably never happen. Like I said earlier, when I can finally just lay down cash to buy, they don't sell the product I want.

looks good.

its amazing, a 450 after a few tweaks is now getting towards the weight of a 250 2-stroke, only with an extra 20HP
