I don't like the air/SFF forks on my 2015 250 KXF. I've had them worked on and still not a fan. They are awesome on hard impacts but the first half of the stroke feels too harsh on little bumps. I got a chance to ride my buddies 2015 YZF 250 and I love those forks. Better front end feel and all around performance. I'm going to try Ohlins forks for my Kawi. Not a fan of air forks.

My FullFloater from 1981 still works really well.

Your 2015 kx250f forks aren't air forks. They are SFF with a spring in one side.

Tried Honda, Yamaha and KTM all in there stock form (no re springing or re valves)

Yamaha was by far the best couldn't fault them.
Hondas where ok.
Ktm I found very harsh and they didn't seem to soak up the bumps like the others.

I am a average rider, average height and weight also and the KYB SSS forks on the yamaha win for me

I'm hearing good things about the TAC forks. Most likely going to be riding them this year too Laughing

But the first generation that was on the '13 and '14 Kawi's, fuck those.

hahaha, I was seriously expecting you to have a post in this when i clicked on it! I was disappointed when you hadn't posted yet. I remember you talking about how much you hated the ones on your kawi.

I believe I remember ML512 saying that the PSF forks are actually pretty good once you get them setup correctly, but that they came with improper setups from the factory.

Yea they work okay. My problem was with reliability and them just being a pain in the ass in general.

there are no bad forks out there...its up to the rider to know how to set them up. They all work fundamentally the same and while a valve stack can change things for the better, knowing how to use clickers, air, oil, will be of great benefit to any rider before spending lots of moola to simple have someone change around some .50 shims and try to make you think they did brain surgery.

What a racket.

Just stuck my kit PSF1 I had laying around on the 15 KX while I get the TAC's redone... man I missed them... but I do have a ton of testing hours on them (profile pic is from my first time back on them). I generally think that they were pushed on to the market a bit too early. The initial production settings were out of the ballpark. Since no tuners had experience with these types of forks yet, they had to start from that base setting and go through a ton of trial and error to figure somethings out. Sadly, this really hurts the small time shops as they just don't have the time to put in the testing hours needed to get dialed in. As for reliability, I've always scratched my head at some people's problems (this is in no way an insult towards anyone) but with over 100 hours on them, I've yet to have any real problem.

X2 I prefer the '14 fork over the '15. Hate the KYB shock tough....

I've had both the '13 and '15 kawi's and both set up by PC. I'll say the TACs are better for me, by far. Interested to hear your thoughts after you get the TACs back. Easily has allowed me to get faster over the last few months solely from the confidence in the suspension. Also, I haven't had to mess with the complexity of pressures, etc. The settings provided by PC seemed to be spot on within a few clicks depending on track conditions. Like ML said, I've put many hours on the psf1's and about 13 hrs on the TACs. 0 reliability issues.
