Very cool. I'm intrigued by the triple air forks..... If Kawi made a 350 I would buy one right away

Great looking bikes. Kawasaki is going to be hard to beat!

Its funny cause I'm sure Honda and Yamaha spend more R&D but their not on the same level as Kawasaki. Thir problem is they start over every few years while Kawasaki, Suzuki, and KTM build upon proven foundations.

Thanks for snipping my post GuyB lol
This one is more organized

Biggest news is the change from Kayaba PSF air forks to Showa Separate Function Fork (SFF) with a Triple Air Chamber (TAC) on the 450

Read on MXA that the ECU retards the ignition upon wheelspin.... otherwise known as traction control. Has that been done before?

That's with full gas tank. I wish they would weight them empty so you could compare the weight we are used to.

GAs weighs less than water. Water is 8.8 lbs per gallon. Say its 2 with a 2.5 tank, thats only 20 lbs.

Nice work, Kawi! Looks like I'll be upgrading from my 2013 next season. Upgrades in all the right places as far as I'm concerned. Kashima upper tubes and shock, DLC lower tube, braking oversized rotors..all stock? Yes please. For weight - it's the same exact weight as the new RM-Z450. And a few lb's heavier than the Honda. I'll take the Kawi's extra few lb's over the Honda any day of the week. It's a much better all around package.

Nothing wrong with your comment, it's just harder to compare weights of bikes when some have different size fuel tanks. It use to be all fluids, but no gas when they weighed them which is still the way MXA does it. Manufactures use to weight them completely dry of everything to make the weights seem less. FYI a 1998 KX250 weighed 232 lbs with all fluids and no gas.

Can you still panic rev over a jump in a nose down attitude? Just wondering. Anyone who have ever hit a jump and had to panic rev the bike to get the nose back up to keep from augering in knows that you don't want the bike to think that in the air the ECU will sense wheelspin and back the motor off. Not trying to bash on the Kawi, I just prefer to use my ECU and right hand to retard horsepower.

Sheesh.

How much less does an aftermarket Ti or carbon muffler weigh as compared to stock?

Only improvement is the front brake.

The four position bar mounts are the stupidest thing ever. Nobody runs them in the front. I had to switch mine to the back position just to get a one piece bar mount so the shitty rubber mounts would stop twisting on me when the wind blew too hard.

It's a great bike, I've been riding it since 2009, but all these "upgrades" aren't what they seem, I can tell you that.

The ECU simply retards the ignition, thus reducing power. That won't have any effect on the gyroscopic effect of the spinning engine/rear wheel when you are in the air.

I like these a bit too much, going to be tempted I think with this bike.

Longer link, does that make it same length as Pro Circuit linkage?
