2014 Team Factory Yamaha making a come back

Edited Date/Time 6/12/2013 8:23pm
My guess is they are not to happy with Star, JGR, Eleven 10 and the other "factory supported" teams and may just run the show themselves in 2014.

Been talking with a few high profile riders, but unsure as to who.

Couple dozen bikes and a half mill to the big dealer team for support? Would that be in the ball park for support? Or does support equal a couple of bikes and one shopping cart full of parts? Lord only knows what all the NASCAR team got. Maybe they got six bikes and two shopping carts full of parts....

East and west 250cc riders and 2 450 riders.
Seems like a great way to show off the new bikes.. If true.

How many YMC parts of the Factory Caliber do you actually see on JGR's bikes?

Are you looking for reasons other than the lackluster results?

I think Yamaha was contracting JGR to develop and make improvements to the bike. JGR had that new pipe last year on their bikes, maybe it was a Yamaha desgin and using JGR as a test bed. Hell it coulda been the whole engine as far as we know.

I never insinuated that they may have gotten two shopping carts full of trick parts.

My implications were that JGR is kinda on their own & YMC didn't seem to provide much other than bikes...as for funding...?

Yamaha seems to want to have Teams buy all the "Racing Parts", including YMCs "Engine Program", from them. From the on-set it seemed as if Yamaha was looking to develop a program much like what you see in Indy-Cars...etc. Engine Leasing Programs & the like...

There's just one Problem: the perception that the product is Inferior & they're NOT Winning...ANYTHING.

The Factories have been backing away from Racing in a rapid & direct fashion. To some extent they've succeeded in letting others pay for their Marketing: look a Suzuki! Damn, they look pretty smart! They're spending virtually NOTHING for the 2 "Suzuki" Teams that're getting the Best Results & the most Media Coverage.

I'm jus' observing...

Great rumor.

It would awesome to see Yamaha field a true factory team again. If true no doubt they are looking for a big budget sponsor to help pay for it.

I'd love to see this happen.

U got a point. Interesting how Rockstar ended up with Zook, made them partly yellow and Zook-ish for us to see while Smartcab felt the urge to go white? Rockstar at least get bikes for free?

One would think OEMs would start competing to give teams more support. Seems you can pretty much exposure buy sending any team ten standard bikes in a container, instead of building a multi million set-up?

I think Chad Reed will be running Blue next year as a factory effort, maybe have Dean Wilson as well. He is just not at all happy with that honda, and I don't see them keeping him either.

Thoughts?

Dean has a 2 year deal with Mitch but I bet Reed goes blue.

I read an article somewhere recently and Wilson is only on PC for this year. Unless Mitch is resigning since injured but otherwise I think it was one year deal.

Reed will not be on a bike that has factory Yamaha backing or anything Yamaha related.
