I have a customer who is having a false neutral between 3-4th gear, and having the bike refusing to shift up from 3-4th. Has anybody who owns/rides one had a similar issue ? Or have any other dealers been hearing of complains like this ?
Customer is a vet master rider(good rider) and not a super fussy guy BTW....

Your best bet is to go to KTMtalk. If you can't find the answer there, well, you can't find it....

Sounds like a blown tranny. Shift fork could be wasted. Splitting the cases is the only solution.

I had this problem w/ the race-gear-set that they put in as a Factory Services part(s). Replaced it with production trans from '14 SXF. Working fine.

I'm of the opinion that when I 1st started riding the bike it had a very "sensitive" gear-spacing that got beat up really quick from missed shifts while on the gas. Also, getting the Stock KTM shifter adjusted just-right is almost impossible for some boots/feet & going to an after-market shifter with a different length/height seems to help.

Oddly, the best gear box I've ridden, lately? Husky FC450.

Yup, I had an unhappy shift-fork and gear dawgs.

I don't know in the 4 stroke models, but in my 2stroke if I don't use 15w50 oil, it refuses to shift if I have the gas open even if it is just a little, with 15w50, I can powershift WFO with a light touch to the clutch

I found a solution to a problem years ago on my 2stroke... the damn thing had a light switch clutch making gear changes a 70% proposition. TypeF transmission fluid changed after each race day was the fix. Until I tried it I wouldn't have believed it.

I run a 50-50 mix of ATF and 5-20 motor oil and my 13 300SX shifts awesome. I change every it 3 rides and it comes out red just the way it went in. Been doing it since the 90s with all of my 2 strokes and have never had a tranny problem.
