A buddy of mine wanted to do a build and started out with a 2014 and got everything needed to make it look like a 2015. Just about everything you could do to make this thing look factory was done. From wheels to just about everything Works Connection offered. Other than triple clamps this thing is ready to rip.
With help from the guys at PCP Motorsports, Ryan at Works Connection, TCR Wheels, Dunlop and Motopro Graphics, this thing came out sweet.
Triple J over at PCP Motorsports was also a big help with getting everything started and helping with the actual build. I was lucky enough to help with the build and got to see first hand how easy it was to make the '14 look like a '15.

I like the graphics too, do you usually ride under the influence of that substance?
What is her name?
I apologize in advance I'm just joking
For real though nice bike, its tasteful and not too loud but its definitely sexy. I like the wheels.
The Shop
Looking at that build made me realize I wont be happy with mine until I do the airbox.
My restyled kit looks ok, but the airbox does not look right.
So, when I'm done, I'll have
2006 yz 250 (Eric Gorr 295)
2008 yz 250 f forks revalved
2007 yz250f rear ti spring
2009 yz450f swingarm
It will be so light, I'll have to strap it to the stand to keep it from floating away.
Pit Row
The rear fender, 2015 is 38.00. 2006 rear fender, Acerbis, is 21.00. That is more than aftermarket, but not much. Yamaha's oem plastic has always been priced low and it fits perfectly.
For the front fender, Yamaha changed the mounting bolt pattern when they updated the fender, so I'll use my restyle to avoid having to redrill.
The aftermarket plastic sucks, in comparison to oem. Its always off...either in mounting spots or color. Never quite right. Good enough, sure, but not right.
Im in Australia and the shops don't have a clue when they can get the bits or pricing.
Like rcannon said, the OEM stuff fits WAY better and all the grommets and spacers fit better.
The front fender is a UFO fender, the holes don't line up on the 2015 OEM fender.
I have always used OEM stuff and the discount I get makes it even more of a no brainer. The after mark stuff fits like crap and doesn't last nearly as long.
Tell your buddy to spend a little more dough and go with the OEM stuff.
The airbox is the costly piece, and we wont see the aftermarket make that, right?
Whats even more awesoem is the airbox is probably not as good as it was, but it is pretty!
Not to mention, I would want OEM so I know everything seals properly on the air boot.
For those that done have a 2015 and want the look, this conversion is super simple and cheap.
The airbox is on backorder, so it might be a while.
