So they shaved of some fat, interview claims 1.5 lbs, is it now lighter than the crf? Can't remember the figures...

That was 1.5 pounds in two spots (exhaust and cases). I'd guess that wasn't all of it.

Maybe so, Roger was promoted busy with the scale, hunting for grams. but I can't get the previous weight as earlier thread suggest 240 lbs on last years model (?), while the new crf lands on 234, and here we hear 235.9 while they say their aim is to build the lightest bike? It's not a life or dead info, but for the the argument on a mx-forum I keep going. Did they shave of 4.1 lbs and landed on 235.9, or is it only 1.5 lbs (thats the only number he offered)? meaning 238.5? Seems to achieve to build the lightest bike, they need 7 lbs to kill the CRF? Somewhere 5.5 lbs had to go, and wasn't mentioned?

Odd for me at least, they build such an amazing machine while being totally unable to put it on a working scale and show the exact figure? Or they think this detail is pointless? Something fishy as it's still a porker, but they want to promote it's not the case...

In the video he stated that they wanted to be right at the minimum weight rule for supercross, not production bikes.

Then he stated in the next couple years they will focus on weight to become the lightest production bike even with a electric start.

You guys can't listen? lol

I obviously didn't pay enough attention. LOL! In the promo for the new bike, they talk about another bike aiming for 220 lbs, and then they go back and talk about the new bike loosing 1.5 lbs, and Roger hunting for grams only to suggest they will try to build the lightest production bike in the future... Meanwhile they don't say how much the actual bike weight, or how much they actually shaved off. Would be even more confusing if the mixed how much they have shaved of the race bike in this. Luckily a third bike weight wasn't mentioned

Can it be more confusing? These people need to get into politics, they talk, but there's actually no solid info. Grinning

I know its a little confusing.

If you don't count the aftermarker parts (pipe).

The bike only lost 1/2 pound for the starter cases and the ignition got a map switch.

IMO not a big enough change to buy this bike over a standard 2013 model.
