No kidding! Funny how the KTM 144 has a side panel that snaps in place and a quick release air filter retainer that hooks in place. No tools required. I still keep taking the seat off for some reason! Even that only has one bolt. But man o man, they sure are some weird bolts....................................

I'm not crazy about the white rear fender either. $7,200 for a new 250 and another grand for a pipe and suspension mods. I must be getting old because that's freakin' insane. Anyway, I am anxious to see the 2010 Yamaha 450's. Anyone want to buy a kid or two because I'm due for a new bike?????

Ill never understand why the oem's dont let you ate least have a color option for rims.

Its only anodizing for Christs sake.

I think that it would be hard to allow for wheel options at the low volumes that any single dealer would be able to order/sell. While anodized wheels are not a complex option - sourcing a supply chain with any sort of variation would be a problem.

Now...if you got rid of the dealer network and could order direct, then you might have a better chance of some customization. All "cores" would be sourced from a master location and "assembled" with custom options. Note: the American car manufacturers may start selling cars on eBay (some US dealers already do this). Or...maybe your dealer would choose to not stock a bike and you could "customize" via a Kiosk and then the order delivered to your dealer (note: Kiosk as a human salesman probably doesn't even understand the stock/default product).

It is a supply chain problem - not a simple wheel problem.

If they buy different rims from different batches the won't anodize the same. I had this problem on an 04 cr85.

I've got an 09 450 myself and ordered up white plastic and seat cover for it as well as the air box covers. Call Tim at MotoSport.com and he'll find those for you..

I like how the two muffler system was supposed to be for "perfect balance through the whoops"; now the new single muffler is for "better mass centralization".

Gotta love the marketing team.

7200 is a joke for the price of a new 250f.....just wait and see how much the 450 will be. Regardless of dollar/yen ratios and a weak economy the Mfg's are going to price theirselves right out of the market and more people will be turning to the used market. There is a model in economics regarding supply and demand and how price affects the demand. There comes a price that a Mfg will charge for their product (I forgot the exact term) and once that price is found any increase reduces demand and there will be alot less new bike sales. If it is an R&D cost problem developing the bikes then they need to take a break and let the rising costs catch up with the demand....a near $500 rise per year is out of hand

Honda really disappointed me this year .....im always excited to see the new models because they are fresh and even with BNG's they are exciting and new, these 2010's....not so much they look identical regardless of the internal changes

And what's with the Showa's on the 250f and KYB's on the 450? All the factory Honda race teams here run Showa's on the big bikes......I prefer Showa's myself but I haven't ridden a 09 CRF450 so ....

I was really thinking I would bite the bullet and get a 2010. Now I think come fall I will just tear down the 06 and do a complete rebuild and maybe port it and cam it and ride it another couple years.

Looks like they didn't do the wrap around the frame header on the 250f either .....It was pretty ugly on the 09's I think they could've done a better aesteically pleasing job. I wonder why they didn't do it for the 250f ....the idea was to lengthen the header to help reduce sound right? Most cases the 250f's are louder than the 450's at the races

I don't even think there are internal changes on that 450. I think it's an '09 with '09 graphics and a 2010 VIN number.

I've always thought that the curved radiator shroud looks bad, as well. The previous radiator shrouds were much sleeker, IMO.

I'm down with the rest of the bike, though. Except may the front fender.
