Hey guys, i have grown up riding 2stroke MX bikes and feel a bit more comfortable in my knowledge of them. I am asking for you opinions/advice/comments on what to look for when looking at a 4 stroke MX bike. Of course i understand all the linkages, sloopyness etc but motor wise what should i look for and listen for? It is a the bike in title.

Thanks

Good bike. I had a 09 and they are virtually the same. It doesn't have much top end or over rev and the motor seems smooth. Be careful with shifting as the tranny is weak. It likes to kick out of gear and find a false neutral a lot when the bike is under a load. A good clutch can help but not cure the situation. Handles great

I remember that Suzuki had a recall on the RM-Z450 2008, the cases were actually a bit thin and they redesigned the engine with thicker cases. Suzuki swapped the whole engine for a new one for those who already had a 2008. Make sure that this is done.

I love my 08 very smooth and handles great. I put on a fmf megabomb with the factory 4.1 muffler and a yoshimura pim2 and it really woke the bike up.
