Do you have a budget for your builds?
Its not as bad as you might think, just a lot of "labor of love". I do whatever I can myself.
I try to spread out purchasing items as I go. One item at a time sometimes. I am also in the "industry" so many companies have helped me out with discounts. But as everyone knows this sport is not cheap by any means.
Its a passion of mine so I dont mind spending the money.

very sweet. im gonna be doing a '03-'05 kx125 soon. couple questions, where did u get the green bolts on the fork sliders? and what kind of radiator hoses did u use? theres so many different kinds, and the prices vary so much, are the expensive ones really worth that much more?

Thanks!
Green fork guard bolts are from Nihilo Concepts
Rad hoses are cheap ones I found on amazon, I don't think I will be issuing them as the color and fitment is not how I like. Will end up with stock black hoses or CV4 colored hoses.

After I stripped the primer and paint off the frame I'm sure it's the same weight or close to it

Very cool. I'm always interested in stuff that's a little different. Great build thus far.

Can someone explain to me what nickel plating is? it looks just like a layer of spray paint, but then someone asks if it added weight. like, how? Also i tried googling it and it only showed up electronic nickel plating or something.

Nickle plating is one step before chrome plating. It is not paint. This particular finish is called "Electroless nickel plating".

It is an auto-catalytic chemical technique used to deposit a layer of nickel-phosphorus or nickel-boron alloy on a solid workpiece, such as my steel frame.

It is more silver in person, and it wont wear off like paint or powdercoat

You'll definitely have to post updated frame pics after a few rides. I'm curious as to how the plating will wear.

Im told its pretty durable, I will most likely be using carbon frame guards just to be safe. but will post pics after I ride it

I don't know which guards you prefer but the Light Speed frame guards are a great fit and look great as well, I've talked with LightSpeed and all I get is...We'll have them ready in a few week's, it's going on 7 month's now and no frame guards, maybe more of us KX owner's should shoot an email or give them a call. I don't know if you're interested but I have LS fork guards that I am not using. Keep up the good work and tell 180 decals they're getting another customer.

Yes I plan on using Lightspeed.. I just got off the phone with them, Still no frame guards, saying they are due in with his next batch (within a month) and no eta for a skid plate. Guess I'll continue to search on the interwebs for some.

Never have stuff in stock ,always saying soon soon, service sucks and no inventory. Try zeta,or pro carbon.

Sick build, why the PC clamps instead of the dp you used on the 450?

Thanks, PC clamps because DP doesn't make them for two strokes
