Any list on who is racing this yet? Was hoping to see some names that have either retired or not racing because of sponsor issues. AKA M. Stewart, Blake Wharton Pastrana.....

They do as the OEM's tell them.......the 2 stroke race is 100 times more entertaining than the "chicks" race. True story.

Yep, but they never showed the chicks races on tv either... If they do give it any tv time they will talk about it as a "throwback" type of race to when these bikes were competitive. Then they will pick apart how a 4 stroke would be able to clear that jump etc even though a different caliber of rider is actually the main culprit...

*forgot to mention they will give no credence to the completely pathetic displacement disparity.

this is because the fastest women are no better than local intermediates. and last place is maybe novice speed. the gap in speed in the womens is silly as is the lack of participants.

by no means is this a knock on womens racing, but as far as being good enough to have their own coverage meh. its at best a decent side show and even then....

You have Rusks name in there as well as a few others. If they are racing the national (the real one later that day) could they still race the 2-stroke race? Extra practice?

It mentions that in the "Source"

"But, several of these riders plan to race the 250/450 AMA National classes on that weekend — which opens more spots for other riders."

I'm riding my buddies cobbled together Frankenbike. It started life as a 2000 YZ 250, later he bought a n '03 chassis with '06 Yz 450 suspension. We put a 295 cylinder on it and dumped the '06 shock for the '00 because it was too long. It's the one in my avatar photo. I'm a bit rusty, squirrely and out of shape, but it will be fun as hell!

It will be interesting to see how lap times compare to the 4 strokes

I wondered about this too. But what would he ride? Been a while since yellow made an RM250. Then again that doesn't seem to stop Pastrana.

I wish I could race it, or at least loan my bike to someone that could represent on it.

I think the only fair way to compare times is with riders on both. For instance My times won't compare because I'm out of racing shape and haven't been "Nationally" competitive in 10 years. It is going to be more of a Vet A race with a few real fast amateurs and current pros sprinkled in.

The two I know you could base off of is Sean Collier and Michael Sleeter, They both raced the 450 class at Hangtown and I believe are racing 450's at GH and were both attached to the email entry conformation I got the other day.

I can still twist the throttle, but I don't train or ride nearly as much anymore so I'm planning to sprint as long as I safely can (maybe 4-5 laps) and then just ride it out to the finish. My last test session last night before GH...
