I love a good KX 500.... I'm thinking of building one up as a solo (I have 2 sidecars)
Like the Fasthouse bike...

250 looks like it has potential too but needs a chain DESPERATELY.....

Thanks everyone for the comments. These 2 bikes will not be riden anymore they will sit in my house so I can look at them every day. Also looking for a 1999-2000 kx125 to do a Shae Bentley build

Shame they won't be ridden. Can't decide which bike I like more. Love the 500s but that 250 sparks a ton of memories growing up. Beautiful rides

is this the start of the build thread or end of it ? if you are going to just sit them in your house to look at you should make them look new again .
the bikes look great for taking to the track and riding the shit out of them , but it doesn't look like you have even stripped them down so I'm am understand were the build comes into .

Your right. They are meant to be raced. That's what they were built for in the beginning. We race every week but still manage to make the old Bitch look good haha

i just finished an AF build with a CR 500 engine , i would love to have a fully restored KX 250 and 500

i don't have many pics from when i was a kid due to our house burning down but i found 1 of my first KX 250 this was the first time i was going to ride it , i was 15 i was racing 125's but you were not allowed to race 250's until you were 16

would be 85/86 model i think



my AF 500 supermoto build i just finished and no way will it be going in the lounge to look at :-}}

thanks for all the comments. i own about 16 bikes so i have other bikes i do ride. my main 3 race bikes i have are....

2011 rmz250- 250c-open c class
2004 rm 250- unlimited class
2005 yz125- 125 c class

my other bikes i own i ride at my house and or on the track on practice days.

Good for you bud, if had any more room, I'd love to have a few more bikes on my garage. I have friends that build bike after bike and usually only ride a couple of them on a regular basis. Building bikes is a fun process and keeps us busy.
