I'm rebuilding a set of wheels for a guy who is restoring a 1989 CR 250. I have gold excels, new spokes, but the hubs are in very bad shape.

Stock, what shade of black were these hubs? The 89' CR is before my time, so I'm not sure what color to go with for Powder Coating. I was thinking satin black, or gloss black. They look flat black, but I'm sure it's just because of age.

I believe it would be a semi gloss satin black and Lubri-Tech or PJ1 used to sell a very close match.

Yeah I went on google and checked but it's hard to tell. The guy wants them powder coated, so I'm dropping them off tomorrow. I'll probably just go with satin, and hopefully it's good enough
