Got my frame back from powdercoater (minus the VIN number, but that's a seperate post).

The RAL2009 looks good. Still matches the new orange well.

Got a LOT of goodies to go on - will shoot pics as it comes together.

Some of the goodies are:
CV forks, Dubya wheels, Rocket exhaust, Neken clamps, Rekluse EXP clutch, orange plastics, Decal Works graphics, Honda steering stabilizer, orange Moto Hoses, and a bunch of other misc stuff.

Yes, I'm a vet rider with some discretionary money to spend. Smile

Joe - I'd say 9.5

I looked at close to 50 different powder samples from multiple companies and felt RAL2009 was the best, even though the new orange is slightly redder than the old orange, and RAL2009 is what everyone has been using for years.

When I get home later today, i'll post up a new pic with the front fender on and you can see the match.

Thanks man, are you putting in a T-hose or did you salvage the OEM one?

I salvaged the stocker pretty well, as I had the special KTM tool from when I PC the frame on my '12 EXC500 (in the background)

I actually had ordered a new OEM t-hose just in case, though. But then I saw Moto-hose had the aftermarket one available so I ordered that too. I think I'm gonna run the Moto-hose setup - looks like it will flow coolant better than the stock setup. I might try to adapt the black rubber "grommets" from the stock hose to take up the space between the frame cutouts and the motohose

HAHA yea I'm waiting for that one! I could care less - I have a lot of fun building custom bikes. Some of the goodies are just for looks, and some are to make the bike easier and/or more fun to ride. I'll never be fast, but I don't need to be to have fun riding and racing. I work for my money, and I'll choose to spend it how I see fit. I'll post here for the guys like me that like seeing cool/custom bikes. For those who just wanna make negative comments about how this or that is a waste - whatever - just move on and don't bother the rest of us!

Do the have a flo orange like the flo plastics. I'm getting my 125 together but don't want to spend to much money on it in case I don't like it. If I do like it I wanna do a flo orange frame and flo orange plastics. Your bike is gonna look nice by the way.

Yeah that's what I'm looking for. I have not spent much time on ktms. I love 125's and got this 13 super cheap so for now I just put some oem plastics and a top end in it. Didn't want to get to crazy. It's already been PC'ed orange but it's got some wear. Thanks for that pic that's what I'm looking for.

And so the fun begins!
Modern 4 strokes have just a tad more wiring than the old vintage 2 strokes I used to work on!!

I helped my dad redo the wiring on a Bonneville T120 he was restoring a couple years back, and it looked similar to that. It was not fun!

Ordered a Race Tech gold valve for the Honda steering damper today. Felt pretty weak even turned to the stiffest setting.

Yeah I've heard they need a revalve to make much of a difference...

Sleeter's 350 from the Vet Worlds. Stock, except for a pipe...and maybe the air forks that he had on it. It sounds like you can expect those on a model soon. Wink

I'd like to try those air forks, but I think I'll be more than happy with my cone valves.
Now next year if they come out with AER CV forks??? Maybe

I ordered an FMF Ti MB header today. Getting that stock pipe off and on is a pain. Plus the FMF is cool and weighs a little less

2 thumbs up Swat. I approve of this discretionary spending! Just provide some detailed build threads for the old CR's as well.

Just wait until you have someones bi-polar other self make his own Vital account to tell you how to spend your own hard earned money. Then you will know that you have "arrived". Laughing
