I have $500 demo bucks to burn. This is my first KTM so I don't know the problem parts.

What are some must have KTM parts? Is there anything that I should keep extras of besides the normal stuff?

I already have an exhaust, skid plate , levers and suspension handled.

for me it was the handlebars and grips that bothered me the most on the KTM also the foot pegs did not provide enough grip for my liking so i went with the raptor foot pegs

I raced Sunday and the grips destroyed my hands. I couldn't find a bar position at all. I have a set of Pro-Taper RC bend going on tonight..

The sprocket makes a big difference. Tightens up the gearing and you can stay in 3rd longer.

Some People dislike the seat,

Tires, Brake Pads, Chain, Front Sprocket aren't really a bad idea

Im a bigger guy and always need new springs and a revalve so buying springs now (if needed) would save you some money

I have all that covered. This isn't my first bike it's just my first ktm. I don't know what parts / seals are issues that I should keep stock.

Sprocket first. This is mandatory in my opinion. Hour meter, handlebar mount mapping switch, gallon of that expensive recommended oil. Oil filters. I like the suggestion about buying springs (if necessary) now for future revalve.

issue on the KTM could be the small filter that sits in the fuel line where they get coupled together.
make sure you have enough of those i swapped them every week. just to make sure the little filter did not get clogged up.

I know of some people that r running them without the small filter but i rather be safe.

As far as parts go stock rear brake pads wear off fast and make an peeping noise almost immediately if you have the possibility try to take other pads i tried EBC and moto master . EBC is kind of the same on the peep thing buth don't wear of that fast. Moto master was excellent no more peep to be heard but again faster on the wear

hope i typed pretty much correct s you understand.

and maybe a big brake kit on the front. stock is feld kind of spongy to me, big rotor gave me more control also because the disc was thicker

2 stroke air filter cages, '15 250sx cage will work, they're not expensive, get a few of them.
The little aluminum weird shaped cupped washers and bolts that hold the plastic on the subframe, doesn't hurt to have a spare.
Loctite most everything, shifter, fenders, sprocket bolts and all the bolts on the subframe.
And in my case, lots of rear brake pads

and if you'r revalving your suspension let the rear schock be shortened up by about 6MM, keeps the rear planted more on high speeds and give's you a lot more steering control in general. also helps on the sappy stuff out of the corners stops stepping out. maybe a euro thing but here almost every one has it

Get some spare inline fuel filters that go in the quick connect fuel line.

I also have a 15 350. Great bike zero problems . I would suggest getting a new battery . They are lighter and crank the bike over faster .

51tooth

Yosh slip on (Doesn't need full system, no matter the brand, the header is good!)

Sort your suspension.

just put fuel in it and ride it! great bike stock, no need to put anything on it unless you're racing nationals. I put stiffer springs in mine because I weigh 215 pounds, but have kept everything else stock. Can still pull holeshots against 450s in the A class. Only thing I've changed (other than setting the suspension up) is to go to a 51 tooth rear sprocket (when the stock chain n sprockets were due changing anyway) and I've put stiffer clutch springs in to put a bit more pressure on the plate. Found the clutches to be fairly weak (on my 3rd set of friction plates in 27 hours on the motor)

also, seem to go through a lot of rear pads ( I do on most bikes but even more so on this one) - the moto master ones seem to be best for not overheating, DP ones are good too but expensive

we change the inline fuel filter every oil change too, theyre only cheap so may aswel change them more often than required!

Yep, got one of them things on my my new FE, not sure what it's there for. I'm thinking about taking it off and shaving some weight... In all seriousness, I haven't touched it once at the races...That's what the throttle is for???

Edit...When I don't think I can win my moto, I put it on the number 2 position,,,Haha

Judging by most ktm friends, you need lots of orange shit - the more the better.

-Orange powder coated frame.

-Orange x-trig clamps

-Orange hubs

Then you need the obligatory red bull graphics.
