I really don't think the promoters care all that much about live attendance. X Games is a made for TV spectacle. All they care about is how many people turned on the idiot box and watched it.

I agree but when they put an event that averages probably 25,000 spectators in a 110,000 capacity stadium I'm sure they expected the place to look empty. I'm surprised they didn't use a little modern TV technology to superimpose people in the stands.

This article says that 43 million tuned in to watch Winter X, I would imagine summer could be even bigger...

The Coliseum is going to look empty unless there's 70-80,000 people in it. That place is huge. On Thursday there was one big section made up of kids from different Boys & Girls Clubs.

It definitely wasn't the normal weekend crowd that they used to get at Home Depot Center.

Back in the the San Francisco and San Diego days, they were free to get in, and they worked to keep the stands packed...and got weird if you were standing up at your seat, rather than sitting. Back then, you felt like an unpaid extra.
