Who has one and what do you think? Know a guy willing to part with his and I want to pick it up. Any input appreciated.

I had a 07 crf450 and I loved it. the 05-08 chassis is fantastic, 08 being the best. motors are strong too.

I had 05, 06, 07, 08 and a 9. My 2006 and my 08 were my favorites. I used the pro honda oil HP4S Synthtic 4 stroke RED bottle. Great stuff.

Oh, sorry should have specified, HP4S in the engine side, HP transmission (Red Rocket looking bottle lol) on the transmission side. DON'T use Synthetic Oil in the transmission side, I always heard people do this but I've also been told that it leads to clutch slippage for obvious reasons.

I use Rotella T6 on both sides of my Honda 450F and I have a Rekluse clutch in it.
Runs clean and is wet clutch rated.
I also use it on my Husky 450 as well.

If you should ever have valve issues...I would suggest that you replace the complete head with an APE head from Thumper Big Bore. These are complete new castings and all new valves and etc. and the life is much longer than any head or valve combination I have used on these bikes. It is also much cheaper than having the head reworked.

Love my 06. Had the suspension done for my weight. Stock fork springs but went down one weight in the rear. I have Motul proV300 engine side and Motul trans oil in the trans/clutch side.

Previous owner of a 07. Great bike. In saying that, it was a ex national riders bike and not stock. It was way to faaassssttttt for me.

Pitty I wrecked it during a Hare Scramble. Sad

My riding buddy has one and loves it. I had 05 and was my favorite bike. His is bullet proof too because he never changes oil or air filter and it runs great. I'm crazy about how often I change them.

Had an '06 and adored it. If you get a clean one, you'll be happy.

I put a high comp piston and an Akropovic exhaust on mine, haven't rode a better engine since.

Here's a pic of my bro on an 06 CRF 450 after pulling a holeshot in the 50+A class at Mammoth MX a few weeks ago.

As for the 08 CRF 450. I adore the fucking crap out of it!!...I pulled 4 holeshots that same weekend and was named "King of Holeshots" for the Vet weekend Mammoth MX 2015! Here's a pic of one of those holeshots...and another of me on the "Lucas Oil" podium holding a couple of my $50 gift certificates. As you can see, both the 06 and 08 CRF 450's are solid bikes if you take care of them.

I am still riding my 07, it has a bunch of hours on it and I have still not been into the motor. It has not been rode consistently all these years but I still can't believe it still runs this good. I am racing it today.

That being said I have always struggled with front end feel compared to my 04 crf250.

On the 450 the front end is either hooked up and tracking or completely gone. I have not figured out if it is tucking or pushing yet but there is no sliding this front end.

I switched to 22mm clamps and 103-104 mm sag. Run the forks flush with top clamp. My stuff is fc revalved, so clickers are a big deal too. But those 24mm clamps have got to go

Well funny story. I brought it home yesterday afternoon. Wife went nuts, and I mean nuts. Apparently "I guess so" actually means no...maybe she thought I was joking? Lol. Last night pretty much sucked. So I am putting the bike up in hopes that it doesn't sell , but I have to make an effort...smh. Bike rips though! Guy had lots of goodies on it.

Fucking woman. That's why I don't know if I will get married again. That's ridiculous. She is just fucking jealous and wants something of her own. Only way to fix it is to go buy her something just as expensive.

A. Communication is KEY to a happy relationship of any kind. Someone was confused and maybe you got the answer you wanted and went about your way knowing you were in a gray area. Women hate that shit.
OR
B.Your wife is a potential b*tch and you have to realize the amount of women on this planet relative to men. You'll be good, life is crazy short, and you're an mx rider so you have a decent set of testicles hidden in her purse somewhere.

3. I had the 05 450 and it was my favorite 450 I've had out of 10+, many which were newer models. Great bikes with good reliability after 06 on I believe.

Good luck brother. Smile

Raced one all last year and did great on it. Get the suspension done IMMEDIATELY, you will not regret spending the money. FC did mine and it was night and day better.

I agree my 2008 Does everything well. Until last weekend, began popping out of 3rd, then grinding in 4th & 5th. Metal in drain oil, 72 hours total.
