Walt James who was one of the founding fathers of Indian Dunes off road park in Valencia Ca. passed away on Wednesday at 86 years old. Because of Walts vision and efforts Indian Dunes was a huge contributor to all of road sports in the early years and was especially important to the early years of motocross.Walt wanted a place that everyone could enjoy from every off road motor sport community.Indian Dunes had tracks and events for flat track racing,speedway racing,TT racing,sprint cars,ATCs,Off road buggies,grand prixs,,and motocross.The park shut down in 1985 due to too many people filing law suits against the park.Indian Dunes was the birthplace and home to numerous stars of mx. Johnny O,Donnie Hansen,Jeff Ward,Kenny Zahrt,Paul Lane, Johnny Whelchel,Mouse McCoy,Bobby Moore,Steve McQueen,Mike Kiedrowski,Erik Kehoe,Kyle Lewis,Jim Holley,Larry Brooks,and many many more.
