I thought the same thing when I played this game....
It's a good balance between simulation and arcade. If you do championship mode online... you have full bike settings, tire wear, damage, and full sessions available (practice, qualifying, race.) Also, the rubber in the racing line builds up and effects grip. The throttle is extremely realistic...If you're power sliding in a corner and chop the throttle it actually high sides, just like real life. The handling is much better than the MotoGP games...
Black bean is certainly capable of making a better MX game than MUD...not sure why they decided to go the whole arcade route.
