I usually have pretty good luck going super wide on the start and railing the berm for the first right hand corner. More often than not this allows to cut ahead of the pack and allows you to set up correctly for the tight left hand corner before the first section. If you can hit that straight rhythm section clean, you should have about a 2 second lead on everybody and can hopefully keep them behind you.
