recently picked up this 08 Rm250 for $2400 only had 1-2 hours on it and still needed to be broken in and i've put maybe 3 hours on it since then. Bike had literally no scratches on the frame or cases until i rode it a track. I've Noticed a few people have been doing new number plates and front fender but what is the newest year i can get and what's the best way to trim the side plates on these bikes and when you guys got custom graphics did you just trim the graphics?
You are a very lucky man to have that. I'm actually contemplating making you an offer for it!
RM250's in that condition don't exist in the UK anymore.
In response to your question, RMZ front ends fit with just 2 holes needing to be drilled in the new shape fenders. With the side panels there are a couple ways to go about it, but most just trim and then design the graphics without any detail at the bottom so they can then just trim the graphic to suit without effecting the look of it.
With the side plates, I found putting some black tape over the area I was considering cutting off helped me to get an idea what it would look like. Put the black tape on then stand back and squint. I ended up with something like this and I sent this photo to my graphics guy.

I didn't cut as much off for the final white side plates I used.
I used a combination of hack saw, and dremel to cut but the cleanest cut I got was using a box cutter blade.
