Hey guys,
Just picked up this 2002 KX125 and plan on doing a full rebuild, Pretty happy with the current condition as i had a friend pick it up for me and i never really got good eyes on it. He just recently done some work to it so its decent shape.
Just after some advice on what years this model is interchangeable with parts wise, plastics etc. Going to order some parts here soon but not certain on what years are equivalent to this. Even any hot tips on what works well with this model. Thanks for any advice on this, i will do progress pictures as i go.

Got excel wheels & spoke kits, thinking i might machine down the ribs on the hubs and get them coated, magnesium imitation or something similar

I think im going to go flo green on the frame just by matching the paint from my plastic, and then strip and polish the subframe.

Will be watching this splitfire build come together
Still waiting on the frame painter to find a good match on the flow green as it's proving to be a little tricky! hoping soon, should get the wheels built tomorrow if i get a chance.
Pit Row
Convinced myself to open the motor while i had it on the bench and boy am i glad i did.. Check the barrel, the lighter areas inside the barrel actually step back... It kinda seems like the coating has worn off those areas, can someone enlighten me on what i'm looking at there? i have no experience with engines so this tear down is a first for me.
Clutch is roasted and check the oil from it... This parrot who had the bike before me just put a piston in it but left the the rest as is... jesus
More work it seems, may as well coat some parts while im there
Pretty much have everything i need apart from some motor parts, seals, bearings and get the crank looked over. Going to be so much fun putting it back together!
Stripping the subframe and going to get it back to factory looking, brushed aluminium
Cylinder work & bolt re-coating was done by Electrosil down in Victoria Australia. Really do recommend these guys, shipped them a box full of parts and instructions and was done without a hitch and sent back. Great guys to deal with!
Keep up the good work, and +1 for Electrosil, love their work.
