Watching the TV and web coverage of the wildfires here in Southern California, it’s been really interesting to watch how TV stations are showing off the photos and video taken by their viewers, and how widely it expands the coverage over what a traditional TV station or newspaper could do in the past.

Obviously the day-to-day coverage here on Vital MX isn’t nearly as life-or-death as what’s happening with those fires. But we dig checking out the photos and video submissions that Vital MX members upload for several reasons. They provide a different perspective on the sport, covering riders, places, and events that we can’t get to. It also adds some potential for getting published that the users might never get in magazines or old-style media.
