Vital MX 12 Days of Christmas: Day 6
While holiday bells are popular this time of year, the ones you don't want to hear are after a hard get-off, which is where the Bell Helmets Moto-9 comes in.

The Moto-9 ($475.95) is the latest edition of Bell's fabled Moto series. Sure it's got the stuff you expect, like DOT and Snell M2010 certification, and Bell’s Velocity Flow Ventilation system, that pulls air through the helmet to keep you cooler, even on hot days. The TriMatrixComposite Shell is a great mix of strength and light weight, and there's the unique Flying Bridge Visor that is easily adjustable via the two QuickFlip screws, even when you're sitting on the line with gloves on.
But the really trick new features include Bell’s magnetic cheekpad system which they've dubbed the Magnefusion Emergency Release System (MERS), which allows for easy helmet removal in emergency situations by pulling the cheekpads. Add in an Eject helmet removal system (which the helmet is already built to accomodate, and you're good to go. The MERS pads also make it easy to pull and replace the cheek pads for washing, and to keep things funk-free the liner is constructed from X-Static material, a silver-woven antimicrobial and antibacterial material that not only wicks moisture away, it's also said to kill off 99.9% of odor causing bacteria.
With magnets used to hold in the cheekpads, making reinstallation really easy, it made sense to use magnets outside the helmet as well, with a Magnefusion strap keeper that's easy to use, and will keep your strap from flapping painfully against your neck as you hit warp speeds.
Don't forget the removable roost guard, padded chin strap, 1450 gram weight, and a five-year warranty, as well as a deluxe padded helmet bag.
