Training Day: Vital Video

Click the following link for a Practice Day video from Glen Helen.

You know, we love having two pro seasons. Just about the time we start getting weary of the technical indoor tracks, it’s time for the high-speed outdoor season. And usually about the time the end of the hot, gritty, sweaty summer events, the semi-sanitary confines of the stadiums are looking pretty enticing. That said, it’s been fun to watch at the riders and teams start to prepare for the ’07 outdoor campaign.

Last Thursday at Glen Helen was a prime example. During the run-up to the SX season, each team is camped at the semi-privacy of their own track, and working on their own. For the Nationals, except for private track rental days, everyone’s thrown together, which can create some interesting scenes…like a guy rolling around the track on a vintage two-stroke Honda, while factory riders test for the outdoor season.

Probably the oddest scene of the day was a rematch between the two top riders in last year’s Lites National Championship title chase, Ryan Villopoto and Mike Alessi…though they’re no longer on the same size equipment. Anyway, check out the link above to the video.

If you want to talk about anything you've read, seen or watched in here, you can do it in the Vital MX Forums.
