This Is Where It Starts
Okay, here's the deal. We love checking out heavily-modded full-factory race bikes just as much as anyone. But for kids just starting out, and families who want to ride together, this is where it really starts. Fun, friendly bikes that allow young riders a place to build skills and a love for riding, and maybe move into full-on motocross later on.
Whether they feature an automatic or manual clutch, they've generally got low standover height, easy-to-use power, and limited suspension, but make up for it in durability, low maintenance, and tons of fun. Isn't that what it's really all about?
Check out the models below, and visit the respective sites for specs and more detailed info. This is where it starts.

My little brother got a PW50 around 1996, I got interested then and my dad got me a clapped out 70's XR75, the interest stuck for both of us so my dad decided we needed better bikes and it was on from there.

Nice bikes, but they are expensive as sh....... for play bikes. How is an average family supposed to afford that??? Better yet, how is a kid suppose to save up enough to even buy an CRF 80??? Times have changed.

I get it. I remember when a candy bar was a nickel, we got 13 channels of TV via an antenna, and gas was under a buck, too.

I did back in 2000. Pops got me a TT-R 90 and I rode that thing all day every day. It really is where it starts.
