In the 450 main, Ryan Villopoto (Monster Energy Kawasaki) and James Stewart (Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing) were the first two to exit the first corner. But don't count out that guy lurking just over Villopoto's left shoulder.

Early on it was Chad Reed and Ryan Villopoto out front, with Ken Roczen, James Stewart, and Mike Alessi close behind. James got taken out and eventually finished seventh, while Alessi was 22nd.

There was some contact between Malcolm Stewart (Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Honda) and Jason Anderson (Rockstar Energy Racing KTM) that happened after this, that dropped them from fourth and fifth respectively, to Malcolm in seventh, and Jason in 11th. Jason came back to fifth, to retain a tie for the series lead.
