Race 3: MXGP & OPEN

Jeffrey Herlings grabbed the last holeshot of the 2016 Motocross of Nations followed by Tony Cairoli and Tommy Searle. 10 minutes into the moto, Herlings had a two second lead over Cairoli, and Searle was eight seconds further back in third. Cooper Webb was in fifth for the first 13 minutes of the moto, and then he was passed by Kevin Strijbos and fell back to sixth. Webb took a few laps to regroup and then made the move on Coldenhoff for fifth around the 23 minute mark. Then, out of no where, Cairoli closed up on Herlings and started to apply some pressure. 27 minutes into the race there was only a second between Cairoli and Herlings! It was getting intense as the Netherlands, France, and the USA were all battling for the overall win late in the final race of the day. Herlings was able to drop Cairoli in the final three laps of the race. Meanwhile, Webb and Febvre continued to duke it out for fifth place with two laps left, but Webb made a mistake in a turn and went down. He would fall back to 10th place as a result. Febvre then went on to pass Searle for fourth place and secure a third straight Motocross of Nations victory for France. Jeffrey Herlings claimed the win, Tony Cairoli finished in second, and Kevin Strijbos rounded out the podium.

Race 2: MX2 & OPEN

Jason Anderson claimed the second holeshot of the 2016 Motocross of Nations followed by Arnaud Tonus and Gautier Paulin. Jeffrey Herlings started around fifth, but he had worked his way into third by the end of the first lap. He then went after Tonus for second, and he made the pass stick around the eight minute mark. A few moments later he started to close in on Anderson, and a lengthy battle ensued. Anderson held off Herlings for several laps, and then Herlings went down in a corner and lost over 13 seconds getting back up.That gave Anderson plenty of breathing room, and he held onto a 10 second lead for the remainder of the race. Jason Anderson claimed the win, Jeffrey Herlings finished in second, and Gautier Paulin rounded out the podium. Alex Martin finished in ninth.

Race 1: MXGP & MX2

Glenn Coldenhoff grabbed the first holeshot of the 2016 Motocross of Nations followed by Tony Cairoli and Kaven Benoit. American riders Cooper Webb and Alex Martin were in 12th and 26th place half way through the first lap. Romain Febvre worked his way past Benoit for third six minutes into the moto, and he then set his sights on the front two riders. Cairoli must have gotten word that Febvre was on the move, because he made the pass on Coldenhoff for the lead not long after Febvre moved into third. Febvre continued to close, and he eventually passed Coldenhoff for second around the 10 minute mark. By the 11 minute mark Febvre was less than one second behind Cairoli, and he made the pass stick 12 minutes into the moto. At the 15 minute mark, Cooper Webb was in ninth and Alex Martin was in 13th. The two Americans continued to move forward, and at the 25 minute mark Cooper Webb was in fourth and Martin was in 10th. Romain Febvre went on to win the moto, Tony Cairoli finished in second, and Kevin Strijbos rounded out the podium. Cooper Webb finished in fourth and Alex Martin crossed the finish line in ninth.
