Glen Helen Saturday Photo Gallery

A lot of the talk in the pits revolved around some new or newly revised sections of the track. There's the triple up (consisting of a tabletop followed by a step-up landing). At the Prequel, Nate Ramsey crashed trying to triple this section, and Sean Hackley blew up a rear wheel when he clipped the top of the landing. Lots of guys did the double, and a few were eyeing the triple, but no one that we saw went for it.

There was also a new step-up following that first triple that's providing plenty of opportunity for style. Then the racing surface headed out onto the REM track, and to connect back into the normal National track with a downhill triple. Check out the photo gallery for a sequence of Tommy Hahn hitting this section. The big thing here is to not clip the lip, or you'll fly bounce off of it and fly much further down...and it's a loooong drop.

Be sure to check back Sunday night for photos and coverage from Sunday's racing.
