I don't know how it's possible, but this bike grew on me. Just Tuesday I tweeted how ugly I thought they were (not that that means anything beyond that's what my opinion was) but now I look at them and kinda like them. I like the kinda retro decals, too. Not saying I'm gonna go buy one, but if it turns out to be a great performing bike, well then kudos to Yamaha.

I realize that the overall look of the bike is probably one of the least important steps to building a new bike but does anyone see a reason to have so much of the sub frame exposed??? It just looks ugly and from a graphics stand point leaves almost no room for anything creative going on. All they have to do is pull that side numberplate forward about 4-5 inches and the bike would have a nice flow through the plastic like the 2013 crf450 has

I strongly disagree. The subframe is like that for the exhaust to be wrap around in a different way? There is tons of room for graphics, you kidding?

There's no need for the shrouds to be so massive and the numberplates to be so small. Imagine anyone with a 3 digit number, theyd have to be so small to fit on there. And as far as the sub frame goes, i understand why its built the way it is it should just be covered up more because it makes the bike look ugly.

I agree. The bike looks modern. Slimmer, faster and now the handling seems to benefit more then the average rider, Yamaha may turn things around in the pro ranks and can attract riders to their 450 at JGR. Suddenly from a bike that the best on the edge wanted to get away from, it may be a bike the best on the edge want to jump on. I believe it looks awsome and it looks trick and im curious to hear what the test rider at each magazin will say about it.

Personally i belive this bike looks better then the old rounded shrouds like your 250 two stroke. The new look, is more KTM´ish and it looks modern and fast.

Put the 250 2 stroke motor in the previous 250F frame please!! I beg you not to have BNG's on them or the same ones as before BTW, these new 4 strokes look terrible.

BNG, except for the 250. Obviously needs a different bend in the front fender, not the mashed in front look.

Makes groundbreaking, hidden gas cap body work so you can slide up on the tank.

Still routes the vent hose out the top. D'oh!!
