The 10th digit of the vin will tell you L=1990, M=1991, N=1992, it has 91/92 front and rear fenders and forks but the swingarm is 90, 93 the forks were graphite color and the plastic, swingarm and other stuff was way different. Someone did the YZR line ... more »

I'm thinking by the condition of the bike and from the state of bikes that I have seen with the brake line like that in the past that maybe weakening brake performance is not something that these people are too concerned about and to be honest I reckon ... more »

Thanks, yeah the brake line is one of a long list of things that need fixing, the funny thing is that the bracket is all on there backwards too, that I have never seen before.

Tom does the motors on our Team 490's and he is just an awesome guy to deal with, super knowledgeable and just flat out builds great motors. There is a reason why he won all those championships with Jeff Ward.

I did it the other way around, I tried to put a WR pipe on a 490, I got the pipe on and we will just leave it at that haha

On the clutch basket Ebay is about the best bet. On the Cylinder, will a hone clean up the rust, if it's just surface rust it might, if not you could get the cylinder nikasiled and that way you can just keep putting the same size pistons in it when you ... more »

I worked on bikes over the weekend and I took the pipe off mt WR and tried to put it on a 490, the pipe will fit although the spring mounts seem to be further out but the silencer mounts differently so it will not line up with the mounting holes so shue415 ... more »
