About Me
I grew up in Southern California, camping in California City and surrounding desert areas. I spent most of my time in dune buggies, although my dad rode and raced the desert. He also built VW buggies for all of his friends. As I got older, I always wanted to ride, but didn’t have friends who rode. When my sons turned 3 and five, I bought them bikes and started taking them to Lake Elsinore and Lake Perris tracks. My dad lived in the valley and stopped riding after a bad knee injury on a ride a few years prior. He died two years later, just as my kids were getting to the point that they could learn from him. Long story short, I inherited his dune buggy and decided I should get a bike and carry on our family appreciation and love for the desert. I began taking my kids out to the desert to camp. Hard work for a single mom! Now, my kids are 10 and 12 and leave me in the dust! I need to ride more! I am 2 hours from the desert, which stifles our ability to ride on a whim, but we manage weekend trips from time to time. I recently bought a cabin in Lake Arrowhead and can’t wait to check out the trails up there. Time to get some spark arresters……. Did I mention we all ride 2 strokes??? Can’t wait for red sticker season!
