The engine is a 2009 KX250F. I am using a new crankshaft, new bearings, transmission was ISF/REM coated and a whole bunch of other money was thrown at the bike. Not that any of that matters. I have pressed the crank into the right side crankcase and ... more »

681.. Exactly what I was thinking, it would have been the hot setup to put the updated transmission gears into the 09 cases. I remember bringing the 09 into Chaplin Kawa back when the bike was new to get a safety bulletin work. I'm not sure what they

Today I had the crank runout inspected by a local machine shop. It was within spec. I couldn't believe it. So I went back and assembled the cases without the transmission. It went together with ease. Then I tried assembling the motor without the crank

Paw Paw: Oil screen is just not shown in pics, it was installed after. I will have to check run out; I don't own a proper dial gauge but tracking one down is my next step. I had a Hot Rods crank kit, but sold it in favor of this unit, which is the box ... more »

The crank is claimed to be a factory kawasaki part, but it looks like it may have be a machined and lightened OEM unit with a new rod. After taking the cases apart the 1st time, the main bearing from the Left case stuck to the crankshaft and was removed

What are you doing with your old plastics? I'd be an interested buyer for a fair price. Plans to reuse the same seat cover ?

Only thing you'll need is the updated style fender hardware. In 13' they changed the 4 fender bolts which have a wider diameter spacer/dowel than the old bolt. In other words, the bolt holes in the plastic fender are a wider diameter than the previous ... more »

Thanks Circus, I'm not sure If it will work in my favor or not but I got it for $185 plus postage. I guess its essentially the opposite feeling of mounting a flywheel weight.

I'm interested in this crankshaft on eBay. Supposedly it has been machined down to be lighter, and it appears this is true after comparing it to the stocker. Has anyone ever done this to their motor? Any adverse affects ? What did you like about it? ... more »

I'd like to know what you did with the hole from the fuel pump. I have a 13' KX250F tank I want to put on my 2010 carbureted KX250F. Somehow I need to put a petcock on the '13 tank. I thought of using a piece of aluminum stock cut to size, but what did ... more »

Two strokes are not too kind on hard pack tracks with little traction. If your main objective is to achieve results, stick with the four stroke. Four strokes are inherently easier to ride fast in those conditions. With a two stroke, you'll be fighting ... more »
