About Me
Long Beach, CA local from '66-'91.
Stomping grounds: Saddleback; Dunes; Carlsbad; DeAnza; Ascot; 395; HV; Perris. (Fav was Saddleback of course. Have no idea why I loved Carlsbad so much).
Practice fields: Signal Hill, Rabbit Canyon (off 710 behind L.B. country club). L.B. was NO EL Cahon Zone!
Clubs: CMC, SMX, CRC (at times), Doublecross (Viewfinders?). Fav was SMX.....REAL man's Motos!
Class: Novice, Int.
Number: 64, 38N, B43, 415
Training: Road cycle 40 mi. ending with climbing Shell Hill-dismount & run 2 mi. 3x/week. Run 4 mi. w/intermittent sprints on days in between. Lift weights 3x/week. Practice 1hr at Rabbit Canyon once/week.......too long there & cops would show up. Training inspiration was Johnny 'O.
Bikes:
'72 Penton 125 Six Days, '80 RM125, '83 CR250, '84 KX125, '85 KX125/'86 KX250, '86 CR125, '87 YZ125 (YZ otd for $2200.00 @ L.B. Yam, last year race/rode at age 21).
I was smart enough to go race at Saddleback that ONE weekend it re-opened, that was the last races there EVER.
Racing was a "way of life". Saddleback & those days were a true gift that God gave to ALL of us. I would love to trade in the hustle & bustle world we live in now & all current electronic technology to have those days back!
Me & Bones used to go at it when he was on the 440 Husky. I always used to think "why does this guy have "bones" on his leathers?".
