I am a 47 year old kid that started riding again after a 25 year layoff. Until 2003, my last scored moto was in 1978, at Springville Iowa. Since then I have gotten into Modern and Vintage bikes, racing with the Arizona Old Timers Club, American Vintage Dirt Racers Association, and American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association. I have raced much more as a 40+ rider than I ever did as a kid, and am having the time of my life! In July of 2005 I suffered a cerebellur stroke which sidelined me for almost two years. I have since downsized from a CRF450 to a 250F and am working to getting back to the speed I was before all this happened, although that will take a while. At least I can still ride.... I did attend the 2007 World Vets at Glen Helen. Although I didn't do so well, it was very gratifying just to ride the track I have only read/heard about for so many years. 2008 will be better, huge hills and all! On Feb. 8th, 2008 I attended a motocross seminar with my motocross "Hero" Marty Smith at Arizona Cycle Park. It was a total blast and I recommend it highly. He is a great guy, a great teacher and I look forward to doing it again. Hope to see ya at the track sometime!
