Use Gorilla brand Duct tape. Best stuff out there...
Finally got the tank to fit as best as it is going to. Ended up grinding a little bit on the frame to enhance clearance issues. It still need to come lower, but in all reality, this tank (i believe) is made for a steel frame & just does not have

Since nobody chimes in I thought I would close out this thread. Pic of installed cover.
It is a nice cover. I am sure my butt will dig it...
Smed: I like the retro look. I see your right shroud does not fit correctly on the top of the tank. Mine also has fitment issues also. On mine it sticks up above the tank, just does not lay flat like it should. I will be running my local shops graphics,

It does not matter. If you have to ask, then you should not be restoring!
That can of paint will be the least of your expenses!
Good question. I have not gone that far, so I scurried out to the garage & reinstalled the white tank & seat. Looks like I lucked out as long as I figure out the rear strap mount.
I have not raced much in the last few years. Due to my increasing waistline and my lack of wanting to exercise, I have decided to swing a leg over the old girl & get some saddle time this coming season. I have always liked white bikes. To me they

Send the rads to Mylars in Utah. They are the bees knees when it comes to aluminum rads. Also, I have 2 cylinders, but unsure of the year. Any way to tell? One has what looks to be stock black paint which MIGHT work fer ya. The other is silver and I ... more »
I am in the process of turning my 07 YZ250 white. the biggest hurdle is the tank. Ordered one from Clarke in stock capacity. Not happy AT ALL with the way it fits. I don't think it would make it 4 motos 'till the frame would rub a hole in the rear portion ... more »

Not so fast young man... I have been using gas to clean my filters for 30 years. Not one filter has deteriorated to the point that it is un-usable. As a matter of fact I have 3 in a YZ250 that have been rotated for 8 years. Although this year I will ... more »
