Yeh, cast/OEM type pistons don't need the holes. It's all to do with the expansion rate of the piston as it heats up, forged pistons require require a different piston/bore clearance when they are plated/rebored aswell. It's really frustrating that instructions ... more »

Did you drill the exhaust bridge lubrication holes in the piston? Wossner don't include instructions on how to do this, Wiseco do. I've seen this quite a few times in my shop. New forged piston, new nikasil, no oil holes... seized in less than 20 mins.

Pretty sure you are correct Mick, 89 is the "official" rule.... I just don't think the rules are enforced that strictly. Certainly no one at technical inspection is looking at the years and class eligibility side of it. That CR250 Trampas Parker was

Do you mean what year? Or technical info like sound tests etc?.... It's kinda simple on bike eligibility/ Twinshock, pre 1980... but anything with drum brakes, twinshocks (including Mono-shock Yams) conventional forks and air cooled engine is fair game ... more »

This is an issue I've recently had myself on a friends 96 CR. Suspension bolts don't have to be 'bearing fit' tolerence like wheel spindles, as the system relys on the clamping force from the bolt being tightening to hold the centre bush/pivot tight ... more »

95% sure they are all identical. I had this with a 96/97 motor I built earlier in the year. We ended up using a complete different set of cases. I think we ended up using a set of 99 cases? But what i would do to double check is, check the part numbers ... more »
