If an elite athlete is competing in a sport and can't be bothered to read the rulebook or keep current on rule changes, then they should be punished like any other rule breaker. Ignorance is not an excuse to break rules. If James was getting a proper prescription from his physician, then him, his dad, his agent, his team and anyone else attached to his performance should have ensured that he was abiding by the rules. As you state, there are TUE exemptions available. At no point in your diatribe have you addressed why he did not seek one out, or how he became so ignorant of the rules he was supposed to abide by? Could it be that like Lance Armstrong and RC with fuelgate that he felt he was above the rules?
