Yeah, missed you at Red Bud. Will you be hitting Unadilla? I'm headed there for the first time ever this weekend, and looking forward to it.

Hey Kurt,

I never thanked you publicly for saving my writing career. You had written a letter to the editor of MX America newspaper years ago that saved me.

It was 1:30 AM on the NYS Thruway and I was doing 95 MPH to get home so I could sleep and get up for my day job at 7:AM. I got pulled over and slammed with 3 tickets. Any money Cycle News was going to pay be would barely cover the cost of the ticktes and subsequent insurance increase. I had had it, I made my mind up to quit the journalism thing.

When I got home there was a new issue of the paper and I opened it to your letter asking, "Where's Mike. Is he still writing for you guys. I miss him, I love his stuff." I had no idea I was reaching so many people and that it meant that much. So you see, you saved my writing career by writing that letter.

THANKS KURT.

I am now in talks with a Motorycycle Hall of Fame rider to write a book about his life. He wants me (and me only) to do the deed. I wouldn't be here had I quit like I intended before I read your lettter to the editor.

home recuperatin' from total knee replacement. Not moto related, 35 years of playing sports related...Lol

Have to remind you, I would've quit the journalism thing years ago had you not written a letter to MX America asking "where's Mike. Is he still writing for you guys? I miss him, i hope he will be back" :-) I have never forgotten that letter.

I was doing 95 MPH on the NYS Thruway going home from the Albany round of the national AX series and got pulled over at 1:30 AM. I wanted to go to work at the day job at 7:00AM so I was booking. And 3 tickets later I was going to quit writing and lo and behold I get home to the latest issue of MX America and read your letter to the editor.

I never publicly thanked you but I am now. THANX brah.

I am currently in talks with a Hall of Fame mxr who wants me (and only me) to write his book about his life. Wouldn't be here if I had quit writing when I was so frustrated.
