    2007 Legends Tour

I had a lot of fun doing the Legends Tour this year.  It was the first time I have ever been to Red Bud, and it's been a really long time since I've been to 3 nationals in one year.

I would like to thank the following people:

My brother Uncle 'ped (for keeping me going)

Lammy, Sun, Carson, and almost Antunez, (for making it exciting).

Mark Matheis and Mark Shafer (for being my helping hands).

Chris Smith (for traveling all that way, being a positive influence and being my "back" when I needed it ).

The Coomb's and the Ritchie's (for the opportunity and access)

I've already started the planning stages for '08 and everyone wants to see this grow.

    Peace,

    Kurt

    Injuries Suck

It's been two weeks since I re-injured my back at the Mid-Ohio VMD.  Seems that after a month off the bike and a year off the PV bikes, racing 6 motos on two differing, undersuspended machines, was not a good idea.  I might have made 4 motos, but no, I had to stick it out....get my azz handed to me...and go crawling home to Doc Rog (the chiropractor) for more therapy.  Now, I'm sitting around my garage staring at the 12.2 hours I've put on my 07 RMZ450 this year.  Hopefully, I can start riding on a track again by Labor Day.

    VMD was a blast, by-the-way...before I re-injured my back.

    Rrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeedddddddddddd Bbbbbbbbbuuddddddddddddd!!!!!!

Wow, what a great time....even with a back injury.  I would like to thank all of those who helped me along, My Brother, RupertX, Chris Smith, Rob Buydos, Chuck Sun, Steve Lamson, Tom Carson, David (ayearinmx.com) and the others who were there.  I apologize to anyone who had to deal with my enibriatory state...I was trying to kill the pain a little too much on Saturday.  Sorry I missed hangin' with a few of you, but you were probably better off lol.

The few things I do recall were, getting a hug from Leticia, not knowing RC was waiting to shake my hand (Bike show stuff), everyone being soo friendly, great fans, cool security dudes (even though Smith roosted one of 'em), a beautiful track owned by some really nice people....and...uh...well...geez I guess I must not have been that bad.

If anyone is heading to the AHRMA VMD, look me up, #80F on PV MX day.

    Time flies when you're slow

Starting out, I had a great Father's Day.  Actually got the whole family to my favorite track....even the wife!

Well the farm track still sucks....and I haven't done anything except turn it into a grass track (brushogged it last weekend), which is kinda cool with me.  If it all works out and looks good enought, maybe I can build a "garden" track at home...hmmm?  Hopefully once fall rolls around we'll get out there.

I've been having a pretty good summer already.  I've almost rapped up a season with Briarcliff MX (www.briarcliffmx.com).  Ohio has been unusually dry this year, making it a tough way to go for the tracks and practicing. Love my RMZ450...absolutely love it.  AHRMA VMD is just around the corner.  My 81 RM125 and CR480 are ready to go....hope I am.

My big interest this season is the Legends tour put on by Parts Unlimited (Rob Buydos).  I'm getting to go to 3 nationals, which I haven't done...for about ever.  I have 4 bikes in the parade laps ridden by Lammy (96 CR250), Carson (87 CR250), TBA (81 RM125...Barnett needs this one), and Sun (83 CR480).  I'm also putting a few in the Saturday shows for something to do.  It's been a lot of fun, so if your at one of the Legend rounds, look me up.

It was really, really, really, cool to see Roger ride again.  Last time I saw him it was, I think, a Trans-something race at Mid-Ohio....maybe 1980-81?

A special thanks goes out to Joel at FMF for helping me out with the bikes for the tour.

    Peace,

    Kurt

    More on track(s)

Over the weekend I spent a good chunk of time ad(dressing) my track building issues.  The farm implements that I used seemed to do the trick...almost.  On Saturday I headed over to my buddy Mooch's track to watch a team of guys (www.Thomas-General.com) go to town the correct way.  Wow, what a difference someone who can run that stuff makes.  Mooch's track turned out perfect...and once again I was depressed about my creation.  Oh well...guess my pizza and beer coercion isn't a bad idea.

Speaking of beer...the Tuesday Night MX Club is set to have it's first meeting tomorrow in Upyer Albany at a place called the Goat.  The ever infamous Rupert X will be in full glory as we well wish our rapido compadre Gibby off to the Rich land of Green on the left coast.   If you're in Central Ohio, we start at 7ish and you can google BillT Goat Tavern for directions....or email me for the link.

Finally, I would like to thank Robert Myer for finally being my fwiend.

    Peace,

    Kurt

    I suck...

...at building tracks.  Why is it everytime I get the urge to rent a dozer and push dirt, I follow through?  I spend 20 hours on the thing, build all these obstacles (that make me giggle), and in the end when I actually ride it, I'm sick of it and think it blows.  I think next time I get that urge, I'm going to have to rent some friends (beer and pizza) to build it for me.

BTW:  I survived the Open Cooler race, but it took me over a week to recover, thanks to those bastiges RupX and Uncle 'ped.

    Peace,

    Kurt

Blog?....Isn't that something my old TM125 used to do?

Sorry, I'm just a little to old to understand blog and this myspace world.  My old TM125 used to blog, I would have to turn the gas off, hold it wide open until the blog quit, turn the gas back on and take off.  Usually happened on uphills where I couldn't keep it on the pipe.  Aw, the old 2-stroke days.

As some of you know, I have a couple of young "myspace era" type friends who race supercross and the nat's.  Well, the leak is, one will stay yellow next year, but move to AX, and the other will have a "vision" of green in SX.  That's really all I can leak at this time....and if Rupert stays true to form, he'll blabber it all over the internet before he's really allowed anyhow...he's such the AW.

We'll I'm off this weekend to a pitbike race where one of the classes is called, "Open Pro Cooler" Uh-Oh...guess I'll need a opened face helmet for that one.

    Peace,

    Kurt
