Sonnen called it back when the fight was announced. Anybody see any similarities?

Just wondering why you're having to do this? Is there not a piston available with the correct pin height?

Will find out this Friday same scenerio, Jake got a ride on a YZ 250F for a year to see what he can do. Will be suspension testing so hopefully we'll get a good baseline by the end of the day. Then turn him loose on his RM 150 and see where's he's at ... more »

This graph is a few years old, lets now take into consideration most all 250F's have dual port fuel injection (dramatically increases torque) and all are over the 40+ hp threshold. Read the note in the graph, THAT does tell the real story that most don't

I'm guessing you may have changed the head design a bit. Changing to a true flat top piston and taking out some of the extra wide squish area with that step angle. That would open the chamber up some allowing more fuel to fill it.

Good one!!! LOL Jake is too much of a social butterfly to live at a training facility. He's accepted the pecking order in which he runs at the races and is out there to have fun and show he won't embarrass himself with his peers.

Rule of thumb is if you have 10% O2 content you need to add 10% more fuel. Taken from Sunoco Race Fuels website; In simple terms, you should start with adding enough extra fuel to offset the increased oxygen content. What does that mean? Well, let’s ... more »

I thought it was a good question...that is until he had to put his spin on it. My kid races both and it would have been nice to have known before I invested in a 150cc motor. Here's my take after 30 years of racing from MX to NHRA to Karts and no back ... more »

It ran fine in my bikes 125 and 150 RM's, which were built for 98 to 100 octane. I barely had to go up 1 on the main jet when using it. I run the 100LL now because way cheaper and Jake said the O2 didn't make that big of difference for twice the money. ... more »

Looked at their last post on Facebook. "working on everything, including planning on adding starting gate, inside spectator areas to the track" Doesn't sound like they are closing to me. Wish we were 3 hours closer Jake liked this place.

Do you follow them on Facebook? They keep it updated quite often.

A decent explanation; Be aware that the octane number is not a value of power. It is a value that will let you know how far you can use high compression ratio. This is a high compression rate that will give you more power. In the case of a high compression ... more »

Check your squish 1st, it needs to be down around .035 or so. Anything over .040 I'd look at getting it machined and set the squish band width around 50% of bore width. Just proper squish and jetting will get you more than. Porting with poor squish and ... more »

Messing with the roof or floor alters the port timing, which increases duration. Moves power higher in the rpm range, to help compensate follow slipdog's advice by increasing compression, and more importantly increasing msv or "maximum squish velocity". ... more »
