Stock KX's are down about 3 to 4hp to the Ktm's. There's a fix for the reliability issue of head gaskets on the Ktm's. Most won't hold the rubber o-ring past 27hp especially with the Squish over .030. A custom machined stainless o-ring will hold 34hp ... more »

Ran 100LL in our supermini's 19 to 1 (uncorrected) for 2 years. Never blew one up from detno, did show some until I changed needles. Getting the YZ 250 cyl/head back which will be 15.8 to 1 with a 50% squish at around .040. I am allowed to post pictures ... more »

Also a company out there that does cryo for around $6 a lb. Was a year or more ago I found it. I sold my 2 RM 125's after buying $1000.00 or so in gears in 2 years. BPM here in Brooksville did cut the gears in our last bike. Did that to get it sold.

Get your squish and chamber re-done and it'll have a long life on pump gas. The $80 you invest in that will save you 10 fold in having to use race fuel in the future.

A good test to do is when replacing the top end find those extra long q-tips and swab the bottom of crankcase. There should be about 1/8" of residual oil there, this tells you the oil has done it's job by going down through the holes lubricating the ... more »
