Nothing wrong with Wiseco's or most any brand "as long as you take the time to measure the bore and measure the piston". Then have a good squish to prevent detno and all should be good with proper tuning.

The narrow strip of metal that divides the exhaust port is called the bridge. Being that it is so narrow it heats up and expands starting the seizure. By drilling holes in your piston directly across from the bridge will allow the residual 2 stroke oil ... more »

Flat on top usually means squish not reconfigured to the 50 to 55% optimal range. Ran a 112 for 25 hours at a time before 10% drop off in compression. Motor was very reliable BUT it was carefully set up with port timing and squish right on. Was looking ... more »

Weird looking piston wash from the transfers, it is lean but very unbalanced flow. No sign of a tight (proper squish). No cooling ring affect around the perimeter results in heat build up until failure. Check reeds (weird flow from somewhere) and most ... more »

Good clean burning oil BUT lost 2 cranks in under 10 hours due to low flash point. For woods or moderate MX should be fine. But my little knucklehead wringing the crap out of his 125 didn't work the best. Motul 800 is waaay different. Same jetting it ... more »

Measure the bore then choose a piston that fits within the manufactures recommendations. Proper fitment means long life and no discussions about "why did this happen"?

Look and make sure one of the powervalve governor bearings didn't fly out. They're good at crossing over into the tranny side and getting wedged in the groove of the shift drum.
