Pourcel bad lucked his way out of 2 MX titles. 3rd time is going to be the charm.

Added reply in a thread who could beat RC when the GOAT was at the TOP 4/18/2014 12:55 PM

Good breakdown. A truly epic season! If I remember correctly, James' bike wouldn't start after the crash in Dallas either. 19 races of awesome when you add in the 2 Canada rounds for the World Championship. James and RC battled in just about all of them, ... more »

You don't "lay up" and remain a second or so behind the leader. Yes, Villo will likely win the title, but James is riding better than RV right now and has been beating him as of late. No shame in admitting that.

Added reply in a thread RV1 extends Championship lead 3/30/2014 7:23 AM

After James passed RV, Villo kept him honest for 90% of the race. As good as Villopoto is, he wouldn't be able to do that running anything less than 100% James is flat out riding better than Ryan right now, but Ryan will likely win the title. That's ... more »

Added reply in a thread So, does RV come back with a vengeance or..... 3/29/2014 6:57 AM

Funny you mention that. I remember Vegas '09 Stewart let RV by for 1st knowing all he had to do was finish 4th or better for the title. At the time I was thinking, "Man James, you're playing with fire giving this kid (RV) more confidence," knowing that ... more »

x2. These videos never get old to me.

Added reply in a thread What if RC had said that James hasn't lived up to his potential.. 3/3/2014 7:53 AM

If we're defining greatness by championships alone, you have a slight point. That's the only knock you could ever have against James. 5 AMA titles, a 24-0 season, 2nd on the all time wins list, NOT racing MX for 3 seasons. Factoring in (or not) his checkers ... more »

McGrath 1996. I would pit him against any rider ever, prime for prime. That year, in particular, he took his training more serious and it showed. An ankle injury (and Emig) prevented it from being the best season in motocross history. MC showed what ... more »

Wow. If James wins Atlanta, I'd feel pretty good about the bet, Lenny.

A lot of people saw this coming. I firmly believe Kenny is the next man up, field-wise.

Most of these guys aren't very tall. I met MC in '96 and was shocked we were the same height. I was 14.

Added reply in a thread Reed Haters 1/18/2014 10:34 PM

100% Reed catching and passing him irked the shit out of him. Great race! Congrats to Reed! There's a lot of crow to be eaten by many.

Added reply in a thread So what really made RC the Greatest of All Time? 12/24/2013 10:49 AM

Nailed it. His heart and will to win was/is unlike any other. The 4 stroke may have changed things a bit, but it is what it is.

Added reply in a thread James Stewart Interview 12/23/2013 9:17 AM

You're reading waaay too much into what James said. And anyways, I doubt it! Always a good interview and I'm looking forward to that book in the next few years.

The very first thing I noticed. Let's hope 2014 is a repeat of 2006 where everyone stays relatively healthy.
