Added reply in a thread CR 125 cylinder recognition numbers 10/1/2015 1:03 PM

I have tried to make sense out of these numbers but without luck. Seems like they changed porting slightly every year but as far as I know 90-91 heads need domed piston, 92-99 is for flat piston. 90-99 cylinders can be used with both type of heads as ... more »

I woud think that the chock is from a cr250 95, HO stands for Honda, 4=94, 250= engine size. The spings have been same for almost allÖhlins shocks on japanese bikes from the 80s up to when the TTX model came. The ID of the springs for your model start ... more »

When it comes to the Öhlins, the ID numbers may help you. The CR125 96 have ID HO6120, the 250 96 has ID HO6250, 250 95 have HO5250. So, obviously HO stands for Honda. The first digit is the year, second and third is 12 for 125 and 25 for 250. The last

cr125 96 470.5, cr250 96 467.5, cr250 95 464.5, all according to the öhlins spec sheet. All cr from 88 to 96 seem to have very similar lengths. Later 125s have slightly longer.
