    Thank you Bell Helmets!!!

I broke the visor on my Bell Helmet riding, so I contacted them to find out where in AZ I could purchase a replacement.

They e-mailed me back saying they would send a replacement visor for FREE!!

Thank you to Bell Helmets for such great customer service. I was hoping to find a place to go buy one...but they stepped up by letting me know they would send one out at no cost to me.

I'll be looking for the mailman or UPS guy now!!

    Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there. This will be my first (unofficial) celebration of Father's Day. My wife and I found out she is pregnant with our first this past week. We've been married for 11 years, so it's about time to start. Our parents were about to give up hope. We are all excited and hope for healthy mom and baby throughout the pregnancy.

    Finally made some time

It had been a while since the last time I went riding. A member of my extended family called me up to see about riding...and at first I declined. I had a lot of things to do both for work and around the house, but the more I thought about it the more I realized I needed to get out on my bike. Besides, I just had the front fork serviced and needed to test them out!

We went out to an area known as Sycamore. It was a good ride on one of the loops out there. Lots of sand and lots of rolling sections...not to mention a couple of climbs. I definitely had the rust knocked off a couple of times in the rocky sections. Once again my boots proved to be a good investment. Nothing like planting your foot on a section that would certainly cause damage without boots and then brushing through cactus and having the boots take the brunt of the cactus needles. I'm going to need pliers to get some of those things out.

There were a lot of families out in the main areas of the riding spot. So, it was awesome to see families spending some time out riding...from the little guys on 50's to some older fellas cruising along together.

Man, I needed that...I can't wait to go out again soon.

    No Product Support from Nike

I may have to take Nike off my list of favorite companies. They have not offered any product support on a pair of defective Nike shoes that I own and others that have the same problem are being told by Nike that it is because the purchased "knock-off" brands of the shoe, claiming that their shoes would never have the defect.

    Here's more about it:

    My Nike Shox TL3 Story

Nike Shox TL3 you can see where the soles are coming apart and Nike won't do anything about it.

Hope they offer better product support to the L&M Racing Team.

    Alpinestars Protects...ME!

It still amazes me how many people ride without the proper gear. I took my first ever trip to the dunes (Gordons Well) and noticed quite a number of people riding with inadequate protection. Even some of the guys in our group were riding with jeans and sneakers.

I'm extremely glad that I purchased a set of Alpinestars Tech 6 boots. I had my share of crashes during the trip and went over the bars a couple of times. One of those crashes led to the bike coming down on my leg. Fortunately the boot (and soft sand) made the impact minimal. It took me a minute or two to get my leg out from under the bike and get back to riding. The whole day went by with no problem. When we got back to our camp and were sitting down to relax I noticed something on my right boot. It looked like something sticky had collected sand across the top of my boot, so I cleared the sand away and realized my boot had been burned by the pipe when the bike fell on me. Here's a pic of the boot (after I cleaned it up a little):

My Alpinestars Tech 6 boots prevented me from getting severely burned.

Had I been wearing jeans and sneakers, I'd be showing a picture of the burn on my foot and leg. It stinks that I damaged a great pair of boots, but it's not like I can't wear them anymore. Besides it gives them a little character.

Interesting way to see the internet.

Here is a site that is also cool to check out:

    Stumble Upon: http://www.stumbleupon.com/
This site is great for just browsing to see what sites are out there. You can give a site the 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' and add other sites you like for others to rate.

Download the browser toolbar and start 'stumbling'.  VitalMX.com should already be in the list of sites to give a rating to...so, give it a thumbs up!
